Where to go on vacation in October and November?

Autumn weather can be unpredictable – long days of rain alternate with Poland’s golden autumn. So, is it worth going on a short vacation after the peak season? Where should you go on holiday in October and November?

The development of tourism has made it possible for us to take vacations throughout the year. More and more often, we skip the typical holiday season, choosing to rest during off-peak periods. As a result, these trips are usually cheaper, and on the other hand, you can avoid the crowds lining up to take photos with a beautiful view to post on social media.

Vacation after the season – why is it worth it?

Traveling off-season has several advantages: organizing such a trip is often cheaper, and there is greater availability of accommodation. It’s also worth remembering that nowadays, when the effects of global warming are becoming part of our daily lives, traveling to Mediterranean countries during June-August can be difficult, or even dangerous. High temperatures, wildfires, and droughts are increasingly common.

Unfortunately, not everyone can take a two-week vacation after the summer holiday season. Parents of school-aged children must take into account that if they want to plan a trip after the holidays, they have to aim for a long weekend or school-free days – these are extra days off from school activities, for example on Teacher’s Day or during 8th grade exams.

Where is the best place to go for a short vacation in October and November?

If you have 3-4 days off, it’s worth considering staying in the country and opting for local tourism. What does that mean? It means exploring the nearby areas, so the trip doesn’t take up the whole day, and you can enjoy nature or local attractions.

Another option, especially for those living near an airport, is an international city break. While three days may not be enough to fully explore Paris, London, or Rome, it is enough time to eat a baguette, drink coffee, and see a few beautiful places.

Is October nice in Poland?

October can surprise you with warm weather. Though the days are definitely shorter, with a bit of luck, you can expect a few warm days with temperatures reaching up to 20 degrees Celsius. It’s the last chance to catch some sun and recharge your vitamin D levels. If you want to fully enjoy this warm weather, consider a trip to the seaside. The Baltic Sea in the autumn-winter period, when the wind gets stronger, has more iodine and other valuable elements. Check where your nearest beach is, choose a long weekend, for example, October 11-14 (October 14, 2024, is a school-free day), and take a break from the urban hustle, breathe in fresh air, and enjoy the surrounding greenery.

Where to go on vacation in October and November in Poland?

There are as many answers to this question as there are people asking it. If you love the mountains, you probably already have your trip planned and the trails you want to hike marked in your app. However, keep in mind that snow may already appear in the mountains during this time, so it’s worth checking the weather forecast in advance to properly plan your equipment and route.

Another very popular destination is, of course, the Pomeranian Voivodeship. Not only because of its beautiful beaches, national and landscape parks, or lighthouses but also the Tri-City, which attracts tourists from all over Poland and abroad with its attractions.

If you want to combine peaceful, long walks on the beach with sightseeing in the Tri-City, consider a trip to the old fishing village of Dębki, located about 55 km from Gdynia.

Dębki – a vacation in the Pomeranian Voivodeship

Choosing the Pomeranian Voivodeship is a relatively safe option for several reasons, the most important being that even during bad weather, you won’t get bored. Even if you’re going on a longer rehabilitation stay by the sea, you can rest assured – there will be plenty of entertainment.

And if you choose the Fantazja Dębki seaside cottages, even trips to the Tri-City won’t be necessary to kill boredom. The resort is located 800 meters from the beach, and in the evenings, sitting on the terrace, you can hear the sound of the sea. There are modern, year-round, two-story cottages, along with a covered and heated swimming pool, a dry sauna, and a jacuzzi. Children will certainly enjoy the large playground.

Nearby, you can rent bikes or kayaks to go on a trip down the Piaśnica River, which flows from Lake Żarnowieckie directly to the Baltic Sea.

The cottages are fully equipped and prepared for a longer stay – there is a washing machine, dishwasher, and a well-equipped kitchenette. You also have a living room with a TV and two bedrooms at your disposal.

Of course, the biggest attraction is undoubtedly the beautiful, wide beach, which many tourists consider to be the most beautiful in Poland!

Summary

Traveling in October and November, while it may seem like an unusual choice, has many advantages. Whether you choose the Polish mountains, the Baltic coast, or a short international city break, autumn offers peace and the opportunity to explore places without the holiday crowds. It’s a time when you can fully enjoy nature and long walks. One thing is certain: October and November can be an excellent time for rest and recharging before winter.
